Julio Rojas

Julio Rojas is an engineer and medical device innovator with extensive experience in digital design, advanced manufacturing, and CAD/CAM production. His career has primarily focused on the research, development, and practical application of advanced engineering in restorative dentistry.

As one of the original founders of Osteon Medical, Julio was instrumental in scaling the company from an Australian startup into a global provider of digital dentistry solutions. Throughout his tenure at Osteon, progressing from a Design and R&D Engineer to Global Director of Product Development, he has consistently advanced the capabilities of restorative dentistry.

Julio has led and contributed to teams that developed and patented groundbreaking technologies. Notable among these is the invention of horizontal scan bodies, known as scan gauges, a technology capable of recording implant locations for full arches intraorally with high accuracy using any IOS system. By pioneering this fundamental component of a fully digital workflow, he helped set the standard for similar systems worldwide. This breakthrough has significantly improved patient outcomes by enabling more precise and comfortable implant acquisition, requiring fewer appointments, and reducing the risk of long-term implant failure.

Julio holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Engineering, with an emphasis on advanced manufacturing technologies. Committed to continuous learning and serving the dental industry, he is currently completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Julio regularly tests emerging technologies and authors technical white papers to provide the dental community with objective, data-driven insights.
